Iran: Atena Daemi denied transfer to hospital

In the 90th minute before sending Atena Daemi to a hospital outside the Evin Prison, the director of prison clinic personally intervened and prevented her to leave.
Atena Daemi’s family has made strenuous efforts to obtain permission from officials and admission to a hospital outside the prison for their daughter who suffers from kidney complications.
Abbas Khani, the director of Evin’s dispensary, ha previously threatened to retaliate against political prisoners who had leaked out news of his mistreatment of prisoners.
