A previous member of an all women traditional music group criticized the ban of women’s concerts in various provinces.
“With the exception of Tehran and Sanandaj, no other cities are giving warrants to women’s concerts. I have on many occasions requested a warrant to play in my own city but it has never been agreed to”, Baran Rezaie said.
“I tried to hold women’s concerts in Rasht, Isfahan, Karaj, Kermanshah, Yazd, Saghez and Shiraz but they are totally banned”, she added. (ILNA state-run News Agency – Jul. 17, 2017)
